We bring you the Ranking by the Michelin guide of the best restaurants to travel and eat in Spain, very helpful if you are planning a business trip a leisure program or even if you plan to organize an event in Spain
According to the famous Michelin Guide, Spain can be proud of having eight restaurants with three stars:
Arzak, Akelarre and Martin Berasategui Restaurants, all located in Gipuzkoa. (Basque Country)
Restaurant Quique Dacosta in Denia, Alicante.
Azurmendi restaurant in Bilbao city. (Basque Country)
DiverXO restaurant in Madrid
And finally in Catalonia is Sant Pau (Barcelona), and Celler de Can Roca (Girona) which is also the best restaurant in the world according to the magazine “Restaurant”
Outside the 3 stars ranking in Spain there are more than 18 establishments with two stars and 143 with one, resulting a total of 169 spaces included in the ranking of the best restaurants in the Michelin Guide.
According to the famous French Guide, the stars are awarded as follows:
Restaurant with one star means that it is a good place to stop on your journey, indicating a very good restaurant in its category, offering cuisine prepared to a consistently high standard.
Two stars means a restaurant which worth a detour, indicating excellent cuisine and skillfully and carefully crafted dishes of outstanding quality
Finally a three-star’s restaurant identifies a restaurant which worth a special journey, indicating exceptional cuisine where diners eat extremely well, often superbly.
Catalonia stands as great gastronomic quality concentration of no less than 60 Michelin stars between his restaurants classifieds. Followed by the Basque Country, with 29, Madrid with 23, Valencia with 16 and Galicia with 12.
